Opportunity knocks only once it’s ready to knock. You better be prepared to grab it.

That’s the lesson we learned when we got a call from Nimish, the co-founder of one of our most favourite brands & long-term partners, 3Sisters (Adhar Beverages) around noon of Friday, 10th Jan 2025.

We need to develop & design a product for Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s pickleball team, Chennai Super Champs. It’s super urgent, and unless we finalize in the next 3 days, we’ll miss the chance to be seen in the World Pickleball League.“, he mentioned.

“Okay, let me figure this out and call you back.”

5 minutes later, we finalized a slot for an hour from then to discuss the product’s proposition, offering, and how we’d sell it.

Fast-forward to 10 days later, we managed to get the product in the team’s hands before the tournament kicked off. 🙂

So, how did we really do it?

On the brain-storming call that day, we discussed things such as –

  • While the product was for a sports team, including caffeine wasn’t an option, since that’s a dehydrant. So, calling it an energy drink wasn’t going to work.
  • It was imperative for the product to have no added sugar. Manish, the co-founder of Adhar Beverages who leads production, figured using FOS would solve for this.
  • The flavour of this product was going to be similar to Indie-Soda’s Shikanji variant, another iconic packaging design we had worked on together.
  • This highlighted the gap we decided our product would bridge – in a market over-run with international flavours, we’d stand out as an Indian Sports Drink.

All this, over a 45-minute long call. It’s not like we all walked into the meeting with absolutely zero idea how we were going to do it.

But, all of us knew what we were setting out to do, what each member of the team was tasked with doing, and the fact that Adhar Beverages didn’t just look at us as the agency that designs their packaging or runs marketing for them. They considered us partners and sought our advice on what the product could actually be, who we’d sell it to, where and how.

One for Smashing Deadlines Together

  • Day 1 (Friday) – By 10 PM – our creative lead, Priyansha, had worked out the proposed design options.
  • Day 2 (Saturday) – By 4 PM – we had received feedback in terms of what changes were needed. The same were implemented and closed by late evening.
  • Day 3 (Sunday) – By 12 PM – print files had been generated, and shipped out to the printer.
  • Day 5 (Tuesday) – By 3:30 PMproduct page and banners had been created on the 3Sisters website, so that interested consumers could go ahead and buy the product.

No, we’re not open on Saturdays and Sundays, unless there’s a real urgency. This was one.
